While using Debian 12 with Wayland initially seems promising, there are certain challenges that arise when installing additional software, which are not present in X11. For instance, hardware accelerated video playback is not supported on Chromium and related browsers (except for Firefox), freezing issues can occur with certain GNOME extensions (like Pixel saver), and there can be inconsistencies with the Adwaita theme (such as a mix of light and dark themes across different applications).
It's evident that Wayland still has a significant amount of progress to make. Until these
koows issues are resolved, X11 remains the more reliable option, offering a stable experience without the need to be overly cautious.
