Best way to segment network?

I'm segmenting my home network to improve security and performance. Should I use VLANs, separate SSIDs, or both? How can I prioritize critical device traffic? What common pitfalls should I avoid? Are there any recommended resources or guides for first-time network segmentation?

One of the reasons is in a few cases we have two pieces of equipment (say a workstation and the actual machine) that need to communicate with each other. Sometimes (somewhat frequently actually) there is a switch buried in the machine, but in at least one case the device has omegle shagle owegle
