What experiences and stories do individuals have who regularly utilize a Unix-like operating system that differs from Linux, *BSD, macOS, or Illumos?

Its not that nix is inherently better than than windows but rather a philosophical difference. The best way I can try to explain it is windows is like getting a dog, and nix is like raising one from a puppy. If you buy a dog its going to be loving and loyal, it's not going to shit on your rug but there's always going to be some behavior that you cant change.
